The International League champion Columbus Clippers defeated the Pacific Coast League’s Omaha Storm Chasers 8-3 in the Triple-A National Championship Game in front of 9,569 fans last night. They also concluded a one of those rare seasons that players remember for the rest of their lives.

Clippers Beat Lehigh Valley to Even Series
|A four-run eighth inning and a tremendous pitching performance by Mitch Talbot lifted the Clippers to a 4-1 victory, evening the 2011 Governors' Cup Final at 1-1.
After four innings of scoreless baseball, Lehigh Valley put the first run of the contest on the scoreboard on a Tagg Bozied solo homer to lead off the top of the fifth.
Clippers Lose Governors' Cup Opener
|Lehigh Valley jumped on Zach McAllister early and held on to win 5-2, taking game one of the Governors' Cup final at Huntington Park Tuesday.
Brandon Moss hit a three-run shot off McAllister in the top of the first and Scott Podsednik drove home one on an RBI groundout in the second to give the Iron Pigs an early 4-0 lead.

With the victory and a three-game sweep over Durham, the Clippers clinch a spot in the Governors' Cup finals and will play the winner of the Pawtucket - Lehigh Valley series.
