LaRue Man Killed After Crashing into School Bus
|
A LaRue man was killed Monday afternoon when he collided with an Elgin school bus while he was riding an ATV. The Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports the fatal crash occurred on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 4:21 pm on LaRue-Mount Victory Road, west of Clark Road, in Bowling Green Township.
Prospect Woman Killed in Crash

The Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Prospect woman was killed in a crash that occurred at 11:22 pm Tuesday, January 31, on Dunbar Road north of State Route 47.
One injured in Collision with Train
|The Marion Police Department says a man was injured when he drove around lowered gates at a railroad crossing early Monday morning.
At 4:36am, police responded to the rail crossing in the 600 block of Bellefontaine Avenue for a report of a train/vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, however the drive had apparently fled the area on foot.
One Killed in Marion Crash
|One person was killed and injured two others on Friday. The Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred at 11:26 am on Fairground Road, east of Madison Avenue.
Troopers report their preliminary investigation indicates that a 1994 Chevrolet Astro van was traveling eastbound on Fairground Road and struck the left side of a 2007 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Richard E. Lessig, II, 40, of Marion. At the time, the truck was stranded across the roadway at a driveway access.
Patrol Investigating Serious Crash on US 23
|Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Sunday, January 15, at 2:00pm on US 23 near Somerlot-Hoffman Road in Marion County.
The crash involved a 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by Trae Damron, 18 of Marion, and a 2005 Volvo semi tractor-trailer driven by Meldon Lewis Jr., 40 of Detroit, MI.
Crash Sends Women to Hospital, Driver to Jail
|The Marion Police Department arrested a motorcyclist Thursday evening after he crashed his bike. His passenger was seriously injured and flown to a Columbus hospital with life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred at 10:45pm Thursday at the intersection of Bexley Avenue and Vernon Heights Blvd. When police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found 34-year-old Scarlet Manning unresponsive. She was flown to Grant Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Troopers Say Deer Caused Serious Crash
|Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Tuesday at 5:35 am. The crash occurred on State Route 4 south of Barks Road in Marion County.
Bus Hits Plow Near Bucyrus, One Killed
|A bus carrying members of a college wrestling team has collided with a snowplow in Ohio and killed a 52-year-old man on the bus.
The State Highway Patrol says the University of Mount Union bus was in the far right lane and passing the left-lane plow late Tuesday on U.S. 30 in north-central Ohio's Crawford County.
Fewer Fatalities During Christmas Holiday
|Provisional numbers released by the Ohio Department of Public Safety show fewer motorists were killed on Ohio’s roadways this Christmas Holiday.
During the reporting period, which began Thursday, December 24, at 6 p.m. and ran through Monday, December 27, at 5:59 a.m., six people were killed, including one pedestrian, with two of those deaths attributed to alcohol.
Statewide Holiday Traffic Fatalities, Crashes Down
|Provisional numbers released today by the Ohio Department of Public Safety show fewer motorists were killed on Ohio’s roadways this Thanksgiving Holiday. In addition, the Ohio State Highway Patrol handled 8.5 percent less crashes than last year’s holiday.
