Marion Gas Station Robbed on Sunday

The Marion Police Department says officers responded to a robbery report at MotoMart, 691 West Center Street, on Sunday at just before 1:00am. Investigators say a threatening note had been given to the teller and the suspect then forcefully pulled money from the register.

Bosh Wanted for Alleged Armed Robbery

The Marion Police Department is seeking Cody O. Bosh on a felony warrant for Aggravated Robbery. Bosh is a 22-year-old white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighs 170 lbs. His last known address was 875 ½ Bennett Street.

Marion Subway Robbed at Gunpoint

The Marion Police Department says a man walked into Subway, 571 Delaware Avenue, at about 10:45 pm on Monday, January 30, and robbed the business at gunpoint. The suspect fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of money.

Fire on York Street Called Suspicious

A fire at 841 York Street on Friday is being called suspicious. Police had responded to the residence earlier in the day for a report of a burglary. A few hours later, the house caught on fire.

Stolen Rifles Recovered, One Arrested

The Marion Police Department says they recovered four assault-style rifles that were stolen earlier this week.

On Friday, January 27, 2012 officers from the Marion Police Department with the assistance of Marion Juvenile Probation searched a residence in the 1000 block of East Church Street. Investigators say the search revealed four AK-47 assault rifles that were stolen early Thursday morning from Dunhams.

Weapons Stolen from Marion Business

The Marion Police Department is investigating a break-in at Dunham’s Sports that took place early Thursday morning. During the burglary, police say that four WASR assault-style rifles were stolen.

Officers responded to the alarm at 1:29 am Thursday. When they arrived at Dunham’s, 1296 Mt. Vernon Avenue, they discovered a forced entry into the building.

Labounty Sought for Failure to Appear

The Marion Police Department is seeking Aric M. Labounty. He is a 21-year-old white male with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighs 160 lbs. His last known address was 329 East Fairground Street.

Labounty has two warrants for failing to appear in Marion Municipal Court.

Police Investigate Shots Fired

The Marion Police Department is investigating a report of shots fired. On Sunday, January 22, at 6:21 am, officers responded to the report at 208 Blaine Avenue.

The responding officers say they discovered a large party at the residence which was celebrating a the recent release of a person from prison. Officers also say they located evidence to corroborate the reported gun shots.

Police Warn Residents About Increase in Burglaries

The Marion Police Department reports they are seeing a continuing rise in burglaries being committed in the City of Marion. TV’s and video game systems are frequently the targets of the thefts. Also, copper pipes and wiring are being taken from homes. The thefts and burglaries are occurring at all times of the day and throughout the City of Marion.

Man Wanted for Failure to Appear on Domestic Violence Charge

The Marion Police Department is seeking Timothy L. Smith. He is a 25-year-old white male with brown hair and blue eyes. Smith is 6-feet 1-inches tall and weighs 180 lbs. His last known address was 149 Latourette Street.
