COSI on Wheels: What's Wild rolls into the Marion Public Library on Saturday, January 28, at 2:00 pm.

Kids and parents can discover what's wild in Ohio, with hands-on learning exploring animal habitats, identifying birds, and catching and measuring a fish.

Free Seminar to Explore Sleep Disorders

Senior Sleep Disorders is the topic of a Community Chat presented by Lynn Shafer, Marion Area Sleep Lab Manager, on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012 from noon to 1:00 pm at the Kingston Residence of Marion. Having a sleep disorder can cause significant negative effects on a person’s mental and physical health, including changes in mood and mental acuity.

The Marion Public Library is holding Family Fun Night on Thursday, January 19, at 6:00 pm. The theme for this night is Matchbox Derby.

Demystifying Digital Media

Ohio State Marion’s Science Café, a free monthly community discussion on topical issues of science, welcomes Daniel McEnnis of Gracenote, to downtown Marion’s Infinity Restaurant, 267 West Center Street, on Tuesday, January 3, 7 p.m. to help shed light on the science of digital media industry.  A pioneer in the digital media industry based in Emeryville, California, Gracenote combines information, technology, services and applications to create ingenious entertainment solutions for the global market.

Free Christmas Eve Dinner, Service Offered

This Christmas Eve, Country Caterers in Marion is inviting the public to attend a Christmas Eve service with their family and friends. The evening will include an open Christmas Eve service featuring live, traditional Christmas music and a sermon presented by Rob Lill.

Church Holding Free Veggie Tale Event

Cornerstone Alliance Church, 2010 Marion-Marysville Road, Marion, will be having a free Veggie Tale Family Christmas Event: The Little Drummer Boy on Saturday, December 17, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

They will be watching the movie Veggie Tales: The Little Drummer Boy and also having a children's craft area and serving a light snack.

New Exhibit and Large Book Signing at Heritage Hall

On Saturday, December 10, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, the Wyandot Popcorn Museum and the Marion County Historical Society will present the opening of a new exhibit and book signing by over a dozen Ohio authors. Museum admission is free for the afternoon and there will be close-up magic performed by Dick Haines of the Haines Family Circus and Cathy Brake will be serving up pies and cookies in the auditorium.

Free Babysitting While You Shop

As a gift to the community, Prospect Street United Methodist Church is offering free babysitting on Saturday, December 10, from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. Bring your children, ages 10 and under, to the church at 185 South Prospect Street, Marion, and allow the church volunteers to entertain them while you get some Christmas shopping and errands done.

Peanut Push, Parade, and More in Downtown Marion

Saturday, December 3, is a day full of holiday activities in downtown Marion. The annual events include the Peanut Push, Breakfast with Santa, Christmas Parade, and a free movie at the Palace Theatre.
