Marion Government Offices, Health Department Closed for Holiday
In observance of the Labor Day Holiday, several Marion government and agency offices will be closed and services altered.
Marion City Hall will be closed on Monday.
City sanitation crews will not work on Monday. Residents who normally have Monday sanitation service are asked to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 am Tuesday, September 7th. Sanitation crews will collect both Monday and Tuesday’s refuse on Tuesday, with the possibility that some of Tuesday’s collection could extend into Wednesday.
Marion Area Transit buses will not operate on Monday. Normal bus routes will resume on Tuesday, September 7.
Marion Senior Center will be closed on Monday.
Lincoln Pool will be open, weather permitting, on Monday, September 6th for the last day of operation for the 2010 season. However, the Recreation Center will be closed Saturday, September 4th, in order for staff to assist with Saturday in the Park, which will be held from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Lincoln Park. The Recreation Center will reopen on Tuesday.
Necessary services including fire, police, and airport will operate as usual.
The Marion County Building and Courthouse will be closed on Monday. As such, all offices located in the Marion County Building will also be closed.
All divisions of Marion Public Health will be closed on Monday as well.
