Senior Stop Rest Area Offers Free Fun

The Marion Popcorn Festival Popcorn Senior Stop is being hosted by the Senior Hospitality Center. The Senior Stop, located in the May Pavilion of the Palace Theatre, will be open Thursday, September 8, 2011 and Friday, September 9, 2011.

Embracing this year's theme, “Hooray for Hollywood”, Thursday’s activities will start with the “Walk of Fame” which will include Health screenings and Bingo. Thursday’s hours are 11:00am to 4:00pm. After enjoying the activities in the May Pavilion, Thursday afternoon’s entertainment continues in Hollywood style with Michael Sutherland’s Sinatra and Friends Show which starts at 2:00pm.

On Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., festivities continue with Vegas-style games such as Texas Hold’em, Bingo, Poker, 31 Cards, Roulette, and Blackjack. All games are free and no money is needed.

The senior rest area is sponsored by Marion General Hospital, Kingston Residence of Marion, and the City of Marion. Peacock Water, Community Healthcare Center, Home health, Signature Healthcare, Visiting Nurses Assoc., Interim Healthcare, Sterling House, Acclaim Hospice and DeWolfe House are also sponsoring prizes for Friday’s games.
