Thursday is Bike Night with Vicious Cycle at Festival
The Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Vicious Cycle will take the Marion Popcorn Festival main stage at 8:30pm on Thursday, September 8, as part of the Festival’s Bike Nite festivities. Their performance, as with all main stage entertainment, is free. In addition to the main stage, there is entertainment occurring all day at the community stage.
Vicious Cycle is an Ohio-based band that pays tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, the definitive Southern rock band that fused the overdriven power of blues-rock with a rebellious Southern image and a hard rock swagger.
Fronted by Mike “Cherokee” Edmonson, all of the Vicious Cycle members have extensive band experience and have opened for many national acts. The band takes its name from Lynyrd Skynyrd’s 2003 album and highlights their music from the early 1970s to present. Festival attendees will hear their favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd hits including, “Gimme Three Steps”, “Simple Man”, “Free Bird”, “Down South Junkin’”, “What’s Your Name”, and “Sweet Home Alabama”.
The Community Stage will feature entertainment all day and evening, including:
- 12:00n - Spartan’s in Motion (Pleasant Show Choir)
- 12:30pm - Marion’s Shining Stars
- 2:00pm - Downtown Poets
- 4:00pm - Daughter of the King Dance Ministry
- 8:00pm - Johnny Cash/June Carter Tribute by Bill and Sue Timmons
