Police Investigate Shots Fired

The Marion Police Department is investigating a report of shots fired. On Sunday, January 22, at 6:21 am, officers responded to the report at 208 Blaine Avenue.

The responding officers say they discovered a large party at the residence which was celebrating a the recent release of a person from prison. Officers also say they located evidence to corroborate the reported gun shots.

No victims were located and no immediate arrests were made. The case remains under investigation.

“The Marion Police Department will aggressively pursue individuals who use guns illegally in the City of Marion,” stated Chief Tom Bell. “Shots being fired in a neighborhood is extremely dangerous for everyone in the area and will not be tolerated.”
