Stolen Rifles Recovered, One Arrested

The Marion Police Department says they recovered four assault-style rifles that were stolen earlier this week.

On Friday, January 27, 2012 officers from the Marion Police Department with the assistance of Marion Juvenile Probation searched a residence in the 1000 block of East Church Street. Investigators say the search revealed four AK-47 assault rifles that were stolen early Thursday morning from Dunhams.

A suspect, identified as a 16-year-old Marion resident, was already in custody in the Marion Juvenile Detention Center.

Charges will be sent to the Marion County Prosecutors Office for formal filing. The name of the juvenile is not being released at this time.
